Cannot view Help Files on non-MS programs

I cannot view the Help files for software programs other
than MS programs -- e.g, Sierra, Roxio. Error mesage
appears, "Failed to launch Help." I cannot open the Help
files using "Open With." Help files for IE, Word, Excel
open fine.
 
Any Roxio product I have ever "PURCHASED" has all the files necessary for
the help screens to function normally. Many downloaded (pirated) copies have
the help files stripped out of the package, to make the download smaller.
You get what you pay for (-:
