i have a partition (logical) that has data on it (D drive)and recently
i can only view the contents if i right click and choose explore.
if i use my computer and click D drive nothing happens.

i have tried error checking but it doesnt fix it.
any ideas?

When you right click the drive, are Open, Explore and Search the first three
items at the top?

Is Open in BOLD?

If not Open, Explore and Search is not the order what is?

What is listed in BOLD?

In the mean time, try this.

Start | Run | Type or paste: regsvr32 /i shell32 | Click OK

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Fixed it. It was a virus that part of it's nature was to infect D
drive onwards, by putting autorun.ini and pagefile.pif on that drive.
The virus cleaner deleted pagefile.pif but not the autorun.ini so i
deleted that in safe mode and all is well.
