cannot validate my version of windows xp

when I am trying to dowload a media player I keep getting the same error
message
8007F0DA any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds very "chinese" to me. What player are you trying to install? WMP 11
does check for key.

Hi Terry,
This error seems to be all around the Internet, but none related to just a
media player. I've noticed you posted your request for help on
www.eggheadcafe.com also. Most complaints on this seem to be security
update related. You may want to review your installation history to see if
anything failed that hasn't been taken care of yet. Also make sure the
Cryptographic service is running.
I can't do more for you on this. Sorry.
