I am running XP Home Edition on a Dell Inspiron 8200. I have all new hardware
(replaced by Dell) and the following 2 things are happening. I used to be
able to just close my laptop and then open it back up when I wanted to use it
again. It would come out of standby, ask me to log in and it would be fine.
Now:
1. The computer goes into standby mode, but on restore the system takes
forever to restart and then all programs behave sluggishly (as do screen
refreshes). This can be so bad it forces a reboot.
2. Restarting after standby never happens. While the drive comes on and the
screen LED lights up, the computer never becomes functional and must be
restarted.
Please help! I am definitely not an inexperienced user, but I am also not an
expert. Please make answer user friendly
