cannot use report function

WIN 2K on laptop and when not docked and connecxted to a printer attempts to
use any REPORT function resaults in msg "you must select default printer".
Works fine otherwise. How do I use the report function when disconnected?
 
Good morning

You will have to install some kind of printer driver installed on your laptop
in order for your report function to work properly.

Just to tag onto Maurice's response, you don't need to have a printer
attached to the laptop. You simply need to have a print driver installed,
and that printer designated as the default.
