Cannot upgrade (wpusa.exe not found) from XP Media to Vista RC1

I have HP Pavilion DV8000z (64bit Athlon processor) laptop that came with XP
Media.

I downloaded RC1 64bit and trying to upgrade I get the error that windows
cannot open the file and the readme says that "For Windows Vista the file
format of the standalone update has been changed and carries a new file
extension .MSU. This file extension is associated with an installer called
WUSA.exe that is included in Windows Vista. Double-clicking on a .MSU file
will cause WUSA.exe to be invoked. The installer will then attempt to install
updates included in the .MSU file. "

But the WPUSA.EXE is not on my XP Media!

How do I get the WPUSA.EXE?

Booting the DVD gives me only option for clean install not upgrade.

Thanks.

You can not upgrade from a 32 bit operating system to a 64 bit one. Clean
install only, and you would need to boot from the DVD.

Thanks for the info.!

Can I use a different partition and install Vista on that and keep my
existing working XP Media?
