Cannot uninstall powershell

Due to a series of hard drive problems, I need to to do an "upgrade"
installation of Vista 64 business to repair the OS. The setup process
insists that I uninstall powershell. Unfortunately, powershell is not
visible as a widows update and cannot be uninstalled. I also cannot
reinstall powershell from the Windows6.0-KB928439-x64.msu file. The install
reports that this update does not apply to my system.

Is there any way good to force the upgrade inswtall or remove powershell?

=============================
I certainly have not encountered the issue
are describing but 'maybe' the following
freebie would be worth a try:

Revo Uninstaller

PowerShell is installed through Windows features.

Click Start -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program.

At the left side click 'Turn Windows features on or off' then deselect
PowerShell and click OK.

Regards,

Malcolm.
