Cannot uninstall some software

I have a piece of software in my add/remove software part
of XP Pro that does not want to uninstall. The error it
produces is that there is no uninstal log file.

Is there a way to force XP pro to get rid of this program.

Divx file on my PC contains just 2 empty folders. What
ever was there has now gone but it is still registered as
an installed program in add remove software.

Any ideas - its annoying.

go>start\run and type in regedit and hit ok. Now click the
+ signs beside each entry in the followin order.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersio
n/Uninstall. Now click to highlight uninstall and then
right click in the right panel what you want and then
click delete. Keep smiling.
