Cannot start windows

I deleted some files by accident resulted in unable to boot to windows. I
tried to "restore" windows but didn't work.

So is it possible if I install the HD to another PC as slave and restore the
deleted files? Or may be there's another way?

Startup in safe mode (hit F8 right after the BIOS start up) and do a System
Restore.
If that doesn't work put the Windows XP setup CD (or the restore CD if you
have an OEM installation) in the cd-rom drive, reboot and hit the keyboard
anywere if the question appears on the screen to do so in order to boot from
the cd. Go through the setup menu's till you'll be asked_ new installation
or update. Chooce update (most of your files stay intact, some application
may need reinstall). Follow the hints on the sreen.
