I need help here with regards to resintalling windows defender beta 2 Refresh.

I have accidently deleted a file which is "WindowsDefender.msi" in
C:\Windows\Installer folder and now i can't unsintall it.

I have flush all my system restore point & i have use a software to securely
delete the file(which make it irrecoverable).

So now is there any way i can uninstall Windows Defender ?

I forget to add that it prompt me for the source of the uninstalling and it
can't find it.

If your just trying to reinstall it, you should be able to just copy
everything over the top of what's there and it will replace your missing
files in the process. If you don't like this method, i recommend that you do
it anyway because then you'll be able to uninstall it and reinstall it
properly.

Well, i try uninstall it from add/remove program but it pop out a dialog box
saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is
unavailable."

"Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing
the installation package 'WindowsDefender[1].msi' in the box below".

The same thing happen when i try to install it by running the setup file
downloaded from the microsoft website(No uninstalling has been done).

You could try this:
Get a download of 'Process Explorer' It's FREE at "www.
pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,23780,00.asp" Use Process
Explorer to close as many handles as you can that relate to Windows Defender.
That's the first step then your going to have to use 'search' in the start
menu to find as many files as you can that relate to Windows Defender and
remove them manually. Remove as many files as you can or that it will let
you.
Then try reinstalling it.
Let me know how you go. Good Luck.

I have try your method but unfortunately it did not work.

I have solve the problem myself which is by downloading the setup file and
when it prompt for the installation source, i "point" it to C:\Documents and
Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\OVN01HCM. The WindowsDefender[1].msi setup file is located
at the above mention directory but somehow the setup seems to "forget" where
it is located.

Note:The Folder "OVN01HCM" is a random name & numbers which might be
different for other user.

By the way, Thank you very much for your time in putting your effort to help
me.
