lsass.exe this application has failed to start because
DNSAPI.dll was not found. Reinstalling this application
may fix this problem.

can anyone please explain how to interpret this msg. and
help me get back up.

Thanks, renie

Can you get into Safe Mode at all? Can you boot into Last Known Good
Configuration? If you can do that, (although usually with that error,
you can't), then put your XP cd in the drive, go to Start>Run and type
"sfc /scannow" without the quotes. If you can't do that, try a Repair
Install. If the Repair Install doesn't work (and it never has for me,
but you might get lucky), then do a Clean Install - format the drive,
install Windows, reinstall drivers and programs, restore data from
backups. Here are links to help with the last two items:

http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html - Clean Install

Good luck,

Malke
