Cannot start windows xp Home without cd

When I installed WindowsXP Home upgrade fresh, formatted
hard drive, it will not let me start my computer without
the cd being in the cdrom. Can I correct this? Please
make me aware. Thanks.

when you instaled did you change boot sequence? to boot
from cd first?
