Cannot start help and support

New installation of XP home on a new disk and help won't
answer the helm!

Clicking on the menu item or using windowkey+F1 has no
effect.
 
Type in RUN box "HELPCTR -REGSERVER". If this does not help, visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm and scroll down to "Why doesn't Help and Support Work".

Tried something from kellys-korner and my anti virus
program said it is malicious code. I am reluctant to keep
trying from that site till either something works or
something goes haywire altogether.

Anti-virus software will display this dialog whenever you run a script. Allow access to that script which you downloaded from from Kelly's site [always authentic] and run it.
