Multi-language support?

I currently use Windows 2000 and am considering getting XP Home but the
otherwise excellent site
http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_home_pro.asp
has the slightly ambiguous statement that 'only XP Pro supports multiple
languages in a single install'. Another site says more baldly that there is
'no multi-language support in XP Home'

Does this mean that with XP Home I cannot type French/German/Italian
characters in Word or Notepad?
Does it mean that I can't switch my keyboard to Russian so that I can type
Cyrillic characters
Having graduated through Windows 95, 98 and 2000, XP Home would be the first
version I've used which does not have Multi-language support.

No. It means that you cannot change all of the Windows dialogs and
menus to another language. You can still use ASCII codes (or keyboard
input settings) to place the desired charactors in text files.

No. Same as above.

I'm afraid that you misunderstand what is meant by true "Mutli-Language
Support." None of the earlier OS' had true multi-language support.
Just like WinXP Home they all support using a different input language
keyboard settings. This is a far cry from Mutli-Language Support's
being able to alter every dialog box and menu into the another language.
