cannot send mail

I am aving trouble sending mail through windows mail......I continue to get
the following error messages.....what can I do to fix this?

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Work as a Office asst
Amarillo (Amarillo)', Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error

Regarding the send error: Gmail doesn't use port 25, it uses port 465.

Regarding the receive error: Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail
account, Properties, Servers.
Uncheck the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."
