Cannot send mail since Vista SP1

I recently upgraded Vista with SP1 and now I cannot send any mail.

I have Windows Mail connected to my college account. It has worked before
the update. Sending to this email address has worked before also. Here is the
error message. Thanks in advance.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Re: Hi',
Account: 'jdjohns7.mail.ncsu.edu', Server: 'smtp-resnet.ncsu.edu', Protocol:
SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 <[email protected]>... Relaying
denied. Proper authentication required.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
