Cannot send mail from Contacts

I cannot send an e‑mail message from my contact group using Windows Mail. If
I open Windows Contacts, right-click a contact group, point to Action, and
then click Send E‑mail I get a message "Contacts could not locate an e-mail
client that it could invoke. Contacts uses the simple MAPI Protocol to send
mail. If your e-mail client provides an option to let it handle simple MAPI
calls, please turn on this option from the e-mail client and then try again.
How do I do this?

Why not try it this way:
In the main Windows Mail screen, click Create Mail. When the
compose window comes up click 'To:', then select the recipient.

Thanks for that but it makes contacts pointless and it would be easier to
send to groups from Contacts.

Gary's suggestion works, but it would be more efficient to auto-complete addresses from Windows Contacts. Does anyone know how to enable that tool?

I don't understand your point about how clicking on TO "makes contacts pointless."
Clicking on TO would be worthless if it wasn't for a well-maintained set of contacts.
They certainly aren't pointless using the method I suggested.

Hi, I am having the same problem sending e-mails from Contacts. I have
folders set up and when I select names I want to send to in any folder, go to
top tool bar and click E-Mail, it opens a message to write, but then it will
not let me click "Send". It does nothing! Please respond to this e-mail if
anyone gets it figured out.
thanks, Georgian
