cannot send email

i have recently linked my old email account to windows mail. My inbox has
effectively moved to windows mail (as expected), but when I try and send
email I get an error message
"The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Emailing:
DSC_0106', Account: 'pop3.ireland.com', Server: 'smtpx.ireland.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 This SMTP server requires
authorisation. Most mail clients can be configured with "my server requires
authorisation" to allow this', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553,
Error Number: 0x800CCC78"

I have also copied the guidance from my old e-mail account for the settings
Dear Member,

Please use the following POP/IMAP settings for your email client:

For POP3 Settings:
Username - (e-mail address removed) (full email address: (e-mail address removed) )
Password - your account password
Incoming POP3 Server - pop3.ireland.com
Incoming Port - 110
Outgoing SMTP Server - smtpx.ireland.com
Outgoing Port - 25 or 587
SMTP Authentication - Yes
SSL - No"

I have tried to input this into the settings on the >Tools >Accounts >Mail
area.
Can anyone help me get these settings right so that I can use windows mail
to send email??
Thanks

It looks like you're missing checking the box "My server requires
authentication" on the Servers tab.
