cannot send email using contacts

T

texasaggie89

I can reply to emails and I can send emails using the full email address.
However, when I send emails from my contact list, the emails do not get sent
and stay in my Outbox. The contacts were working just fine when I had the
system at 2003. Now that I upgraded to 2007, it has stopped working. The
outlook client is connected to a smtp/pop3 server for yahoo.

How you are sending these messages remains a mystery. "Contact list" means
nothing to us. How you migrated your data to a new installation is equally
essential information you must provide.

Well, that was a completely useless response. You're trying to tell me that
you are a mvp for Outlook and you don't know what a contact is in
Outlook????? Okay, let me explain in simple terms then for you:

1. I open up a new email
2. In the address, I type in the common name for one of my contacts
3. It resolves to one of my contacts and shows it's common name.
4. When I hit the send button (Hopefully, I won't need to show you where
that is too.), the message goes to the Outbox and stays there.
5. When I open up the message in the outbox, I then try to right click on
the contact. When I do so, I get a message that states that I am not allowed
to do so.
6. Get it now?

There are countless ways to select recipients for email messages. We had no
idea which way you were using, and we can't read minds. The term "Contact
List" has no meaning and could refer to anything. Got it?
Answer the rest of my questions. We still don't know how you managed to
corrupt your address book service until we know precisely how you "upgraded"
and how you migrated your data to the new installation.

Russ,
While you can have "countless" ways to select recipients, the bottom
line is this. Once the recipient is selected, either via typing its alias or
from selecting from the address book, I am unable to check out the outlook
properties for that contact. I get an error code of 300032. As for upgrade,
it was a straight upgrade of choosing the option to completely remove my old
version of Office (2003) and then do the install of 2007. The questions I
have posed is about as straight forward as it can get. Now, can I please get
some answers and possible solutions?

You've finally posted enough information to tell where the problem is, but
the answer has been posted here many times already. Outlook will not
function correctly after you do an in place upgrade. Outlook must be
installed clean.
To fix your address book corruption you must create a new Outlook profile
from scratch, then migrate your data file to the new profile correctly: Open
it in the new profile and set it as the default.
