I have a network working well between my Laptop(XP) and my desktop(89SE) but
when I tried to send an email from the client PC the Dialup window appeared.
and was trying to dial through the P.C. which was already connected. How do
I get round this problem. I should say that I can receive emails on the
client PC

Hi,
Does the desktop dial through the modem or through the
laptop? One thing you could try:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Connection tab
3. Make sure that 'never dial a connection is checked'
When you need to send the e-mail dial-up manually first
then send the -email.
Let me know if I can assist you further, Luke.

Hi,
The desktop dials only through the laptop. There is no connect to the phone
line on the desktop.I have always assumed that is the way it is supposed to
work. So I can't use manual dialling from the desktop..
I had 'never dial a connection' ticked
