Cannot send e-mails

I can import but not send e-mails. The error comes up when I try to send
e-mails:

The host 'smtp' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly.

Subject'trying something new'Account'POP3;server:'smtp'Protocol:SMTP,Port
25,Secure(SSL):No,socket error 11001,error number:0x800CC0D

Since I'm new to computers, I have no idea what's going on or how to fix it.

Your error message indicates you do not have the correct ISP smtp server name.
Call your ISP and find out what smtp server name and what POP3 server name to put in the account settings.
And then have them guide you through the Account setup.
Or tell us what ISP you use (the part after the @ in your email address) and we may be able to tell you what to use.

I'm having the same problem @verizon.net. Their online instructions told me what to put in the fields and I still cannot send an email.

You can't have "exactly" the same problem.
Post your exact error message.
Without that we can not help you.

I "totallylost636" he/she was using POP3 and smtp as server names, those are not valid server names.
