Cannot Send a Link

Matt Russell

Hi all, we're using IE 6 with Outlook Express 6.

If you goto:

Tools, Mail & News, Send Link
- or -
Tools, Mail & News, Send Page

it will always prompt you for some sort of Exchange or
Outlook profile. We are using Outlook Express.

In Programs (Tools, Options) area, we are set up for
Outlook Express.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

OLEXP: "Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work w. Outlook Express:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q306098

Go to Start | Run and type the following:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg

(Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure that is correct)

Make certain to include the quotations marks and the space between the
ending quotation mark and the slash. Recommend if the path is correct, you
just copy/paste the line above into the Start/Run line.

Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools\Internet Options\Programs and
set OE as the default mail (and news) program.

Hi Matt,

Open Registry Editor and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail

In the right-pane, set the value of (default) to "Outlook Express" (without quotes).

If that does not help, try these commands from the RUN box:

MSIMN.EXE /REG
-and-
regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msoe.dll"
