I've got a couple of XP Pro systems that I cannot get to
see our workgroup. The workgroup name is the same as the
other systems. I've enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP and made
sure the Computer Browswer Service is running on all
systems. I've also reinstalled NIC drivers, but nothing
has worked. I keep getting the following error message:
"Workgroup Name" is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions.
The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently
available."
In one configuration, I have have 2 WinXP Pro systems
connecting to the same switch in an office (they share
the ethernet connection back to the wiring closet). One
system is able to access the other systems in the
workgroup and see shared folders. The other one cannot.
Same settings across the board. All systems are able to
access the internet and email. Currently, there are only
11 systems total in the workgroup, but not all are
active. Thoughts?
