Under WinXP (SP2) updated about Christmas . . .
1. I have a USB(v.2) external drive connecting via
front panel USB jack. In December this connected
OK (but as USB.v.1). Since I fully updated the OS
at the end of December on connecting the USB drive
-- the Systray reports its arrival (bottom right) as normal
and displays the new icon for its presence.
-- but the USB drive does not appear in Explorer (My
Computer) (or in FIU PowerDesk).
2. On first connection, the OS reported it would run
slowly since no USB.v.2 drivers. I had hoped updating
the OS would supply USB.v.2 drivers but apparently not.
Is this fixed by my hardware (Compaq Presario 7000) ?
How can I get access to the drive the way I had before Xmas?
