hi
i have windows XP running as a client to a Win2003 Domain Server.
I cannot see other computers from mine but they can see me, i cannot
ping them either
i can only ping the default gateway and the exchange serverand i can
surf the net -otherwise i wouldnt be here :) -.
i dunno much about networking with Windows i know a few commands to
check the status of the network connection and so for example

arp -a lists only the entries for the gateway , and the mail server

i dont want other people to know so i dont want to ask 'em about their
IPs and MAC ads,so is there anyway to make this happen
Thanks, and have a happy new year everyone!

Why not ask your network administrator?

I would suggest it's not a good idea to mess with network issues without the
network administrator's consent.

Since the installation of SP2 networking, XP has become a highly complicated
and very unreliable network client.

The XP code is highly bloated. Then add all the bloated security code added
with XP2 and on top of all that bloat go and another over bloated AV program
that is not even written by MS and what have you got? You've guessed it -- a
f##king nightmare!
