cannot see images using IE6

HI

when i open up my browser, i get X's where images are
meant to be on the website.

I have tried a number of things such as deleting my
cookies and temp internet files and history. I have also
checked in the advanced tab of IE6 that i had show
pictures checked etc etc.

How can i get my images to come back. I can temporarily
see them by choosing view\encoding\unicode etc but this
does not stay on forever. When my IE6 browser is
shutdown i still get X's instead of images.

why is this happening?

Is this a feature of sp2? If so, how can i turn it off?

How can i uninstall and reinstall IE6? What is the
proper procedure to do this?

thanks

Pictures do not appear as expected, or you receive an error message when you open an
HTML file on a Windows XP Service Pack 2-based computer
You receive a script error message when you view the HTML file in a Windows-based
program. You receive an ActiveX error message when you view the HTML file in a
Windows-based program. When you open the HTML file in Microsoft Internet Explorer,
pictures do not appear the way that you expect.

Hi helpplease :)

You might also check your firewall. Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE,
as can @Guard.

If you have ZA Pro, you might do the following and see if it helps:

1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low

2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low

3. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

Hope this helps
