cannot save new page

I did that and frontpage shut down. Right after I created a new page, I
went to save the file and frontpage crashed. I can do the same thing using
dreamweaver and no problems.

Does the server have the FP extensions? If yes, then you should not open it via a FTP application
and make any content changes or structure changes.

Have you run a repair of FP?

from your previous posting I understood that you are able to open the site
using IE and checking the box "open as webfolder "

Why don't you drag and drop a htm page in to the folder - is the error
still there??
Is it possible for you to try opening the site from any other computer
running FrontPage??

ok, its not possible at this time for me to try another computer but I did try to drag one of my current pages into a new folder I set up then opened it through IE & clicked edit with frontpage which opened the frontpage application, then clicked "save as" and had no problem, but I cannot do this when I go straight from frontpage-still get that error. I don't know how to create a new page via IE but I shouldn't have to, should be able to open frontpage and work live from there

Please note that I have always been able to open all my sites and edit existing pages with no problem since this issue but I just cannot save a new page or "save as" an existing page within the sites.

ditto karens comment about this being a new problem. I have been using fp
with same client for 1.5 yrs and no issues until now. Is there a patch to
fix this issue with frontpage?

May be a webfolder issue

Close frontpage and find for files with the extesnison *.web( these are
temp files for the web folders)
Delete these temp files and try opening your site again in frontpage

Still getting the error??

I found about 8 of these files doing a search for .web files *C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache* and they seem to be tied into all the web sites as the name of the files are *www_reelfishart_com_80_web*. Is this what I need to delete ? The only other temp files are my internet files which have been deleted. Is this going to mess up my server exstensions ? or are these the right files ? under the "date modified" only shows the last time I opened the respected web site via frontpage, cannot find anything that points to a date when all this started.

Yes you can safely delete them
- FP will recreate them next time you close your FP Site
