Cannot "Save As"

Recently my friend started having trouble with saving Excel files. He
has everything saved on the server and has been saving and accessing
his files on "Q" drive for a long time. Now, all of a sudden, he cannot
do a "Save As". His system will hang up until you back out of it. He can
do a "Save" and then move the file, but not The "Save As" command.
Any suggestions here on what to do to change this problem will be
greatly appreciated.
 
Thanks, but that is not it, I guess.
Any ohter suggestions out there?
