I created a back-up of my .pst file with the “Outlook 2003 Add-in: Personal
Folders Backupâ€
After I lost my HD I copied the saved pst file from CD to new PC’s HD and
made sure the read only box was not checked.
When I tried to open the file I receive the following error, “Errors have
been detected in the file “Outlook1 backup.pst†Quit Outlook and all
mail-enabled applications, and then use the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe)
to diagnose and repair errors in the file.
I ran scanpst.exe 2 times until there were no more errors found.
I was then able to open the “Outlook1 backup.pst†file and a new folder was
created under personal folders called†Recovered Personal Folders†there is a
sub folder called “Lost & Found†within this folder were 4 “recovered
folders†with a total os 10 items like, contacts, sent emails. But the bulk
of my data is no where to be found.
Any ideas??
