cannot rename userfolder

I renamed an existing user logon name ok, but the associated folder under documents and settings cannot be renamed, its still the old name. It says its a system folder, windows needs to function and cannot be renamed. Can i rename that folder?

You should have deleted the old user name and created a new one. System file/folders cannot be renamed.
