cannot rename files

All files under the my doc directory do not have rename as an option on right
click. The My docs folder does. Ownership and security is the same for all
folders and docs but I cannot rename any doc or folder under my doc,
including new folders, which remain as new folder Help
 
In My Documents Click File on the top Toolbar.
Is there a Rename option there?
 
Yes but it is greyed out and not available
