Cannot remove website from history list

When I use tools->internet options->general and click for
deletion of all visited websites (clear history), it
appears that there is a few websites whose addresses do
not become removed from the history folder. When I
subsequently click the history button and get the history
pane to the left on my screen, I see these websites
listed. Supposedly, I can right-click these websites and
choose "delete" to get rid of them. However, this seems
not to work. It is as if these few websites have been
locked and I don't have the privilege to remove them.
What am I doing wrong and what can I do to get rid of
these websites in my history folder?

What OS are you running? (Win 98, Win XP)? Your History file may be corrupt.
The easiest way to fix this is to delete the History folder. When you
re-boot the machine, Windows will create a brand new one. The method for
doing this is a little different depending on the OS.
