I was having a problem deleting files on my usb mass storage device. Ever
time i try to delete something it comes up with the message "Cannot remove
folder "folder name": The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

I was trying to use DOS to delete it but i couldn't figure out how to use
the /format command

Rather than operating in a Command Prompt (which you call
"DOS") environment, use the appropriate WinXP GUIs: Click
Start / Run / diskmgmr.msc {OK}, then right-click your USB
device and repartition or reformat it.
