cannot remove adobe reader

I originally had adobe reader 6.0. I upgraded to version 7.0.5. When it
installs I get an error that says patch package cannot be opened. Now that I
deleted verison 6, I cannot open a pdf file. I tried to unintall but I get I
still get the same error. I tried to remove it from the registry in the
uninstall section but it doesn't show up there. Any ideas??

Hi Steve. If your'e interested, Foxit pdf reader is an alternative. It's
lightweight and problem- free.

You need to download & run 'Windows Installer CleanUp Utility'.

* Run it, select '(All Users) Adobe Acrobat 7.0 (7.05)', click 'Remove'

Note:
Remove any other Acrobat references for versions 6 or 7

* Click 'Exit' & restart computer
* Reinstall Acrobat 6 or Acrobat 7

I have the same problem. I unistalled Acrobat 6 prof to upgrade my Adove CS
and when I tried to install it back I only get the same message. Is it safe
to install the cleanup? Won't it affect other Adobe or Micrisoft programs?
