cannot receive mail on windows live

Hello, around noon today i stopped being able to receive mail in my windows
live inbox. i can send, but i cannot receive. When i attempt to refresh my
inbox I get the same error message:
Account: 'mail.uk2.net', Server: 'mail.uk2.net', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR Invalid command.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

Can anybody help me?
 
Looks to me like you are using Windows Mail rather than Windows Live Mail.

If so, go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Uncheck the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."
If that was already unchecked, which antivirus are you running? Some of them
cause problems with Windows Mail over time.
