During publishing receiving this error:

"The server could not complete your request. Contact your internet service
provider or web server adaministrator to make sure that the server has the
Frontpage Server Extensions or Sharepoint Services installed."

Any help would be great

What did your ISP / Web host say when you contacted them, as per the
instructions in the error?

I am getting a similar message. Specifically: "The server could not complete
your request. Contact your Internet service provider or web server
administrator to make sure that the server has the FrontPage Server
Extensions installed. For more specific information, click Details."

I recently changed hosting firms for my site and that's when the message
started. In checking with them, they say it's my internet connection. But,
I disagree.

My options when I get the message are OK and Details. Detials shows
nothing. I can say OK and immediately click Publish and it goes through.

I feel my DSL connection is stable because I can be surfing and
sending/receiving mail when I get the message.

Any suggestions on the cause? Need more details? Using Windows 2000, FP
2000. 256kb memory 20 meg free.

Thanks - Ann

I agree with Ann. I think the problem has to do with FPS and FP
authentication for publhing the web on the server.

I don't know how to solve it. I got the same type of issues. Our's
ocurred after we replaced Win98 workstations with Win2000 worksations
and had to re-install FP on the clients. I think the new FP settings on
the client may have some conflicts when autheticating with the FPSE on
the server. I unstled and reinstalled FPSE on the server but didn't make
a difference.

I too uninstalled and reinstalled FPSE. I just need some ammunition to say
to the server that it's them and not me.

Am I wrong that obviously it isn't my ISP and that FPSE are installed if I
can immediately publish after receiving the message? The problem is that it
doesn't occur every time I try to publish.

One tech also said that 2000's extensions were different from later
versions. Is that correct?

Thanks to all for their input.
