CANNOT print

Tevfik

I have Windows XP, .NET Framework 1.1, Office XP
installed on my machine. Printing works just fine through
Office, NotePad etc...

I have a 3rd party software, and i CANNOT print through
this software. But i am sure it is not the software coz,
everything works perfectly on another machine with the
same configuration. the message i get everytime i try to
print using this software is "Aplication-defined or
object-defined error".

Any help will be appreciated.

Tevfik.

Think we've given you advice by numerous people on this before in this
forum. In summary:

1. check with the vendor of the 3rd party software to get their advice.
2. something is different between the "another machine" and your
machine. Find out what's different. Maybe the 3rd party software has a
flawed instllation.

Did you do these steps? What were results?

Thanks for your reply. I somehow wasn't able to see my
message posted nor your replies, Sorry.

Vendor says there is nothing wrong with their program. I
am thinking the only difference between the machines is
maybe the installation order of .NET, Office and that
software. One more thing: Every time i get that error
message, it writes a system event. And this system event
is the same one i got the first time I installed the
printer(network printer) on my machine. As if the machine
tries to install the printer whenever i try to print thru
my software.

Something is wrong with the vendor's product. It works on one machine
and not another. Therefore they do not understand their product. Ask
again.

Same time, given that you received a system event error when you
installed the printer, this suggests something wrong with the printer
installation.

- install another printer and test.

- instead of priting to the printer, chagne the port to "FILE:" and see
if will print. This will separate issue between the printer driver or
the printer/network infrastucture.

- attach the printer direct your machine, by-passing the network,

- do you need .NET for anything? If not, un-install.

- Don't think Office has anything to do with it.
