Cannot Ping DC in child domain by dns

Hi all

I cannot ping the DC in our child domain by DNS however it does respond
using WINS. The child domain has a delegated namespace within the parent
domain (it has worked previoulsy).

Any suggestions?

Do you use the fqdn? ping dc.child_domain.domain.com

Do an nslookup on the dc.child_domain.domain.com, does it return an address?
Can you run a netdiag /fix on the child domain dc?
