Cannot open .pps

I get an error message that says that there are no associations set for this
file, but when I go into the control panel, powerpoint is set to open .pps,
and I do have powerpoint installed. It seems to be doing this since the last
windows update.

Any ideas?

Sometimes if you go into file associations, and delete the association, and
then recreate it, then it begins to work. Who knows?
