cannot open outlook express and burn cds

I have a problem where I cannot open outlook expresss and burn cds on
recordmax now. I had this message come up on norton saying I had the doom
or the norvag virus and said it was removed. as well as that i downloaded
the removal tool but it said that there was none detected.
