cannot open or save files in word 07

since installing office 07 I have been unable to open or save files-HELP?
 
Thanks for reply but what do you mean by activated the software? I installed
and opened it is there something else?

Click the Office button (the one that looks like a pizza - top left of the
Word window) then Word Options > resources > Activate Microsoft Office.
If you get a message box that says it is already activated, then the
indications are that this is a trial version on Office that has now expired.
