cannot open msg attachment in outlook 2007 running on vista home

Try upgrading Google Desktop to the most recent build.
or
Try removing the Outlook add-in for Google Desktop
or
Try telling Google Desktop not to index .msg files.
or
Just uninstall Google Desktop if you don't actually use it.

I would do the first thing first, just to see if it works.
