Cannot open iCalendar files

I have received an e-mail attachment "meeting.ics". When I try to open it I
get the following message -" cannot start microsoft outlook. cannot import
vCalendar file. could not complete the operation. one or more parameter
values are not valid".
The file is an ICalendar file and under properties is listed as archive. I
am trying to open it from Outlook Express

Since Outlook Express has no calendar feature, it cannot process iCalendar
files.
