Cannot open hyperlink to PDF file.

Clicking a link to a PDF file, the Adobe program flashes up then closes out
quickly.
Does onyone know a remedy for this. I have tried this on other computers on
the network and those without my software configuration (Office 2003, Win XP)
seem to work great.
