Cannot Open Certain Websites

Hello, my problem is very weird, I can access sites such
as google.com and yahoo.com, but i cannot access websites
such as xanga.com, my computer comes up with the
message "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." but
it only occurs on certain websites... any help would be
appreciated
