Cannot open certain sites

I'm having problems opening one site - microsoft.com. I've renamed my host
file, repaired then reinstalled IE6, cleared my cache and cookies.

I'm running Win98SE with a cable modem. I can access this site from my work
computer, just not from home. I can reach microsoft.com from links on the
msn.com site but just cannot type it in the address bar.

Any ideas?

Do you add http://www in front of the URL?

This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware, parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

Yes - I entered the full address.
