Cannot open Add/Remove Programs

Gary

I have a Win 2000 PRO machine that we cannot open the
Add/Remove Programs application. I've tried under the
user account & the Administrator account. Other
applications in the Control Panel open up fine.

Thanks.

Gary

- You might need to install hotfix 834010 (it can be obtained free from
Microsoft Support, see article for contact info)
"A deadlock occurs when an ASP.NET program calls the LoadLibrary()
or the FreeLibrary() function in Windows 2000"
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=834010
- If that doesn't work, repair Internet Explorer
"Description of the Internet Explorer Repair Tool Q194177"
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=194177
- If that doesn't work, check for corruption
(From the command prompt)
SFC /PURGECACHE
SFC /SCANNOW

Let me know if any of the above works.

Have you tried single click and ENTER or right click and OPEN. If they
don't work, I should reinstall as long as you have backed up C drive
and remembered to get the System State in your backup.
