cannot open access 2005 without internet explorer

Every time I try to open access 2000 I get an error message saying that I
need internet explorer ver 3.0 or higher to use the program. Then it boots
me out of access and I'm never able to get in. I recently uninstalled
internet explorer on my PC because of a virus and when I tried to reinstall
internet explorer ver 6.0 from a floppy disk it says that a newer version is
already installed on my PC. Any how I went to the computers registry in the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\Internet and created a
DWORD Value file named "ForceShellExecute" and modified the value from 0 to
1. This was supposed to force access to use the netscape browser instead
But it
Didn't Work. Can someone please tell me what I have to do so I can get into
access 2000?

XP. I figured it by the way thanks any ways. I basically reinstalled
internet explorer 6.0 but first I had to go to the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8b85-00AA00JB4383}and change the REG-DWORD
value from 1 to 0. After that I was able to reinstall ie and then I was able
to open access 2000. Thanks anyway.
