Hi,

When I double clicked the HTML local file on my computer, a error
message poped up that said : "The instruction at "ox70dcf39f"
referenced memory at "ox00000000". The memory could not be "read"";
"Click on Ok to terminate the program"; "Click on CANCEL to debug the
program".

I have no problem when I first opened IE and from the toolbar to open
the local html file. And I can use IE to browse any website.

I searched microsoft newsgroups and couldn't find any answers. Can
anyone help me out?

Thanks

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Hi,

Thanks for responding.

However I have done:

1. Cleared my computer with Ad-ware and spybot search and destroy
2. Upgraded my IE6
3. Repaired my IE6 with the function in ADD/Remove programs

The problem is still there.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Andy

Did you update Ad-Aware and Spybot S & D before scanning with them?
Did you run CWShredder?
Where did you post your HijackThis log?

Hi Frank,

I used the most recent Ad-ware and SpyBot softwares, because I
downloaded them yesterday. I posted my log file created by HijackThis
on the website of http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums. They suggested me
remove a few files, but the problem is still there. I haven't tried
CWShredder.

Thanks,
Andy
