Cannot Map Network Drive - Vista

Hi,
I am trying to connect to a remote server using an Open VPN setup. While
Open VPN is connected, I cannot map the network drive. I am getting an error
message 'cannot ping the remote host'. I was using exactly the same setup
with XP without issue so this appears to be a Vista related issue. I have
disabled both windows and norton firewalls however this has not resolved the
issue.
Any ideas?
